Videos are presented to assist you in an emergency when you may not have a resource to show you what to do, but it is a good idea to learn and practice these BEFORE an emergency happens.
HOW TO MANUALLY OPEN A GARAGE DOOR
When the power goes out, your garage door will not work using a remote control. However, you can still open and close the door by releasing it from the chain drive. These videos will show you how to first release the door from the chain drive and open your door, then reconnect your door to the drive once power is restored.
* Important Note*
Once you have opened the door, remember to re-engage the release mechanism to ensure the door cannot be opened from the outside to prevent unauthorized persons from entering your garage.
